About Iggy
The problem
Most food waste isn’t carelessness — it’s a planning gap. We buy things we already have, forget what’s at the back of the fridge, and bin food we paid for just before we’d have used it. It adds up to billions of pounds across UK households every year.
What Iggy does
- One shared list for the whole household, built from your plan minus what’s already in your kitchen.
- A pantry that nudges you to use fresh food before it turns — with a quick tap to mark it used, cooked, or frozen.
- Fast logging — snap a receipt to stock your kitchen, snap a meal to log it, or just tell Iggy in plain words.
- A real number — see the value of the food you rescue, so the effort actually shows up as money.
Who it’s for
Busy households — couples and families — who want to waste less and spend less on food without a spreadsheet or a lifestyle overhaul. Iggy is designed to be shared, so everyone in the kitchen is on the same page.
Why I built Iggy
“I got tired of doing a big shop, then watching half the veg turn into compost by Friday. No app fixed it without becoming a second job. So I built the one I wanted: start with your list, let Iggy do the remembering.”
Shiron — founder of Iggy, building it in the open with UK households.
